With the recent blast of Spring sunshine, my thoughts have definitely turned to the Summer ahead. Last year I gathered seeds from my favourite flowers and this weekend I finally remembered to get them in pots in the greenhouse - I only hope it's not too late!! I'm a bit of a haphazard gardener, in other words, I haven't got a clue as to what I am doing. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. But the astrantia and the snakes head fritillary seeds are sown, alongside the sage and the calendula - after a bit I got bored of drilling little holes in seed pots, so I just scattered them in the borders and on the Sicilian's vegetable patch! If they survive the chickens it will be a small miracle. And whilst I've been thinking of my 'real' flowers outside, I've been crocheting some for these little purses.
I've been borrowing yarn from Pipi's granny blanket project, which seems to be growing steadily too - I've done 40 square now, my target is 80 and given that I manage one each evening there's at least another couple of months work, not to mention the making up! I've started another two purses with some great clasps I bought on Etsy - one with some gorgeous green Amy Butler fabric and one with a pretty delicate floral. Hopefully I'll get them finished this evening - like everything I do, they are a bit of an experiment, I want them to be voluminous and squishy, so I'm interlining them, we'll see!
Time to get back to work - the delicious Italian Easter cakes have arrived at the cookery school, so I need to get them priced up and displayed ready for our Easter open days.
Ciao for now xxx
