Life at the little cottage in Dorset really is rosy right now. The sun has been shining, the roses are in full bloom, the chickens are laying daily (including Henry, the latest edition, yep, she's a girl too!), the Sicilian has made his elderflower cordial and the samphire is positively prolific. The only downside to these long, beautiful days is that I'm not sitting on my comfy sofa, I'm in the garden or out sailing, which frankly eats in to my evening crochet time! Not to worry, daytime 'work' projects have been keeping me busy.
I've been threading the rose quartz, blue quartz, emerald aventurine and orange coral from Gemme Tresor to make these little gems for the Ibiza inspired glass tags. It was such a pleasure photographing them today, in amongst the sweet scented roses.
It's been a beautiful project to work on and it has brought back happy memories of mis-spent afternoons at university with my friend Kathryn - a saunter down to the bead shop on Long Acre, before coffee with warm milk and honey and jewellry making sessions in our hall of residence. Who needs a History degree after all?!
Note to self, designing and creating glass tags that double up as pretty bracelets isn't such a bad day job after all! I'm feeling pretty lucky and, as ever, excited about the next project. It's not a work one this time, but a personal crochet one I'm so looking forward to sharing - for those of you who have enjoyed the apple cosies watch this space xxx
