... I've been having some fun making friendship bracelets for Pipi's contemporaries. Thanks to my patient crochet teacher Lena, I have learnt to make a macrame crochet cord and whilst this is just the base for something altogether more technical and elaborate, as soon as I saw it I knew it would make for pretty, summer bracelets for my 11 year old and her friends.
Even better, I didn't have to pop out for materials - I used the Namolio linen I bought last summer, which has featured in countless projects already, some Anchor 'pearl' cotton and then the little gems I bought via Gemme Tresor on Etsy two years ago for a cookery school client's birthday combined with the Swarovski crystals I used for the same project. I'm an absolute magpie and when it comes to yarn and beads, I'll find a use for every last one!
There are tutorials for macrame crochet cord online, but as soon as I can get my hands on my dad's camera again, I'll post some 'step-by-step' images for you. It's very simple, even the beading is easy once you've cracked the cord technique. Be back soon with a 'how to' ;) xxx
Lovely - I'd like to have a go at making some once you have posted the tutorial.
